Here's a variety of IDL software I've developed over the years. People,
especially business people, sometimes charge lots of money for this sort
of thing, but for you, because I know you, it's free. However, to run
this stuff you'll need a licensed version of IDL, available from Research Systems (no affiliation whatsoever
with RXO.)
If you find IMD to be useful, and you'd like to acknowledge that in your
research publications, feel free to cite this paper:
'IMD - Software
for modeling the optical properties of multilayer films', D. L. Windt, Computers
in Physics, 12, 360 (1998)
-dw
ps. In spite of what any of the old documentation below may say, there's
now only a single type of download file (*.tar.gz), that will work on all
platforms. To unpack use Winzip on Windows, or gunzip + tar on
unix/linux and MacOS X.
pps. To fix a printing problem with IMD running under IDL 5.5
or higher, the download files below actually contain an updated version
of the sp.pro routine, even though I didn't bother changing the version
numbers or dates of these releases.
pps. New versions of IMD and TOPO are coming out real soon. Honest.
imd - Multilayer optical
properties: modeling and curve-fitting
Version 4.1.1, 30-August-2000
topo -
Surface topography analysis
Version 2.05, 2-September-2000
windt - General purpose routines
Note: the IMD download file already includes the windt library,
so you don't need to get it again.
